Prime time to last the distance

Your skincare regime should include gentle cleansing of the skin, moisturizing, exfoliating and replenishing once a week to refine and re balance the skin.

Always take the professional recommendation of a beauty therapist to maintain your skin with the most suitable products for your skin type. Your morning routine should always include applying SPF to your face, neck and decolletage. The latest sunscreen products for the face hydrate like a moisturizer without leaving a greasy residue making them ideal for wearing underneath your makeup.

Before applying any makeup cleanse the skin to remove any traces of excess oils. Non alcoholic, non perfumed baby wipes are ideal for a quick removal of oil and they leave no residue on your skin so you can apply your makeup straight over the top.

When it comes to getting the most from your makeup you should always prep the skin with a primer or make up base. It will create the perfect skin surface as it creates a silky smooth base ready for foundation.

Benefits
Primer should glide on easily due to it's silicone and glycerine content and smooth skin by buffering over open pores and controlling shine by absorbing excess oil.

A light reflective, balancing makeup base provides an even and luminous complexion. Gentle shimmering pigments conceal unevenness of skin and imperfections like fine lines and wrinkles making it look fresher and allows foundation and powders to adhere to, so your base is longer lasting. Primer also reduces the amount of foundation needed.

Application
Primer can be used on a freshly cleaned skin or after using skincare. If your primer contains sun filters and anti aging ingredients and hydrates the skin you can opt to pass on the other moisturizer and SPF products. Ideally use one product under your foundation so that your foundation disappears into your skin not sits on top of it.  Apply down the t-zone and blend out across cheeks towards hairline with a foundation or primer brush.

Primer along the t-zone works to balance extra oiliness and control shine whilst lightly hydrating other areas of the face. If you have an oily skin look for an oil free primer. If you have a drier skin type and use a rich cream foundation and have trouble blending the product you can mix equal parts of the primer and foundation together and create a slightly sheer finish.
